GeoHumanities Editors To Slow Processes in Response to Challenges Caused by COVID-19

GeoHumanities is the newest journal of the American Association of Geographers, launched in 2015, and presents a new opportunity for publishing interdisciplinary scholarship.

The journal features articles that span conceptual and methodological debates in geography and the humanities; critical reflections on analog and digital artistic productions; and new scholarly interactions occurring at the intersections of geography and multiple humanities disciplines.

There are full length scholarly articles in the GeoHumanities Articles section and shorter creative pieces that cross over between the academy and creative practice in the Practices and Curations section.

GeoHumanities is published twice a year (June and December).

GeoHumanities Online Art Exhibition

An accompanying website, the GeoHumanities Online Art Exhibition, features some of the artists and arts-practicing geographers whose work has been published in the journal. These illustrate how core geographic concepts such as place, space, landscape, scale, and mapping now permeate the arts, and how the broader imaginative reinterpretation of these concepts has in turn led to a renaissance of creativity in geography. More artists are added with every new journal issue.
